I’m interested to see whether Tesla’s plan will be practical: a robotaxi owned by Tesla-owning individuals but utilised by Tesla when owners allow it. It has the elastic demand and zero fleet cost of Uber without the high cost of wages.

Only the Tesla Model 3 is remotely practical as a robotaxi – in fact with zero dashboard controls and hidden vents it may even intentionally be designed as a robotaxi in lower-spec config.
