I’ve observed in my own daily morning practices that things number three (hard physical activity) and five (take a cold shower) definitely make a measurable positive improvement to my day.
When my best friend Tony and I decided to start our previous startup in a beach-side location we also committed to a new morning routine every Monday and Friday morning: an hour with a personal trainer on the grass near the beach, a brief bodysurf, and a cold shower in the surf club before breakfast.
There’s no question we had more energy, more focus, more creativity and more positivity all day after that.
If you don’t live/work near the sea, cold showers are great training for new entrepreneurs, who often suffer from an inability to commit wholly or quickly to a new venture.
There’s no partially getting into a cold shower! And it’s never as bad afterwards as you thought it was going to be.
