A photo of Tabo, in Himachal Pradesh. A tiny strip of arable land alongside the surging Spiti River and a 1,000 year old monastery and school. The mountain peaks overshadowing either side of the valley rise to 6,000M. The village has a network of green fields of potato, peas and a few apple trees and poplars. Maybe 3–4,000 people live there, mostly in traditional houses of mud brick, of two stories with a flat thatched roof used for storage. I once lived here for a month. I miss it very much.
