Evolution’s come a long way but our least-developed cognitive skill as a species is our ability to pause and consider whether our beliefs and opinions might be wrong. Maybe social media might be the beginning of an evolutionary change. I’d like to think evolutionary pressure would ultimately favour the competitor more able to consider but of course it might favour the least able.
